THE CONTEXT

Located in Silver Sands, South Australia, Unboxed Cabins provides modern coastal escapes designed for slow, easy living. The concept behind the brand is to create an experience through architectural art that inspires and enables guests to think outside the box of ordinary life.

THE CHALLENGE

The brand needed to appeal to "The Explorer" archetype; professionals who move fast in their daily lives but crave slow, grounding retreats. The visual identity had to maintain a sleek, modern aesthetic while remaining seamlessly connected to the natural, grounding beauty of its surroundings.

The brand strategy was built around the idea of finding freedom in the in-between. Unboxed is all about living life more fully. We developed a tone of voice that speaks the way coastal living feels: easy, warm, and grounded without being too pretentious.

PHASE 2: THE IDENTITY SYSTEM

A Logotype with a Hidden Surprise

The goal for the logo was to maintain a sleek, minimalist aesthetic focusing on functionality and practicality. We utilised a clean logotype set in a classic sans serif font. However, upon closer inspection, the logo reveals a delightful surprise, a hidden brand marque that adds an extra layer of meaning. This marque can be extracted and used as a standalone signifier in small spaces where the full logotype loses legibility.
